Steps

  1. Transfer 1 lb shrimp to a large bowl after it's peeled, deveined, and rinsed with cold 1 tablespoon water. Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon cornstarch, ⅛ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper and 1 tablespoon water to the shrimp. Mix well and marinate for 15 minutes.

  3. In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 5 garlic cloves, ⅓ cup honey, 2 ½ tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon water, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, ½ tablespoon sesame oil and ½ tablespoon cornstarch until honey is dissolved. Set aside.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large pan on medium heat. Cook 1 lb shrimp until mostly pink but slightly translucent, flipping over halfway, about 60-90 seconds in total. Quickly remove it from the pan.

  5. Add the ⅓ cup honey 5 garlic sauce to the pan and simmer to thicken it. When thickened, it can easily coat the back of a spoon and not quickly run off.
  6. Toss in the 1 lb shrimp in the sauce until fully pink and cooked, about 20 seconds. Remove the pan from the heat. Garnish with 1 green onion and ½ teaspoon sesame seeds. Enjoy!
